Knock...(((KNOCK))) Who's There?

Recently, I saw an eerie show on the Discovery Channel called "A Haunting - House of the Dead" which was about a family's house that had paranormal activity going on in there and it brought back some memories of my own (but not as scary)...

It was a typical, quiet, Saturday afternoon (this was when I lived at home with my mom and step-dad) and my mom and step-dad were away which made the day even better. I slept in since I didn't have to work and then my lazy ass finally got in the shower. As the water was running, I heard a loud knock on the door and I figured that the folks came home and my mom wanted something, so I yelled "WHAT do you want?" Since she didn't reply back, I kept the water on and continued to shampoo my hair and then it happened again - but the knock was much louder and there were two knocks. Once again I yelled out "MOM, WHAT DO YOU WANT?" And there was no answer... The knocks have stopped.

I wrapped myself in a towel and I opened the bathroom door but nobody was around besides the 3 cats. I looked out the front door and only my car was in the driveway. I convinced myself thinking they came home for a few minutes and they needed to tell me something or whatever, so I figured to ask them later what they wanted.

Later in the evening, I asked my mom what the hell was that all about, and she was like "What are you talking about?"

I told her about the knocks and she said something like "Oh you're silly.... You knew we weren't home. It was probably coming from the front door or maybe the cats were playing by the door."

I know that sound was defitnitely not from the cats and not coming from the front door. They have different sounds, if ya know what I mean.

A few months later, the roles reversed... I wasn't home and when I got home my mom asked me what I wanted and I'm like "HUH? What are you talking about?" She asked why were you knocking on our door while we were sleeping? I replied "That wasn't me... I wasn't home!" She then said "Stop playing around, what did you want?" Once again I said "I have no idea what you're talking about."

SEVERAL MONTHS LATER -

I was cleaning out the bathroom and stood on top of the toilet to get down this old wicker basket (had fake flowers in out) that has been hanging in the bathroom since we moved in. I couldn't stand looking at it anymore and I wanted it gone. While I unlatched the basket from the hook, it fell to the floor. Underneath the flowers were newspaper clippings about a person, along with an old compact *mirror*, watch & a few other things (looked like broken jewerly). I was kind of freaked out from what I saw and I placed everything in a box and gave it to the folks. I didn't want to throw it away knowing there was some personal meaning behind this all and maybe that (((KNOCK))) was that person/spirit coming back for their things. Who knows for sure?

If you ever had a freaky encounter of your own, I wanna hear from you!

I had to relink you because the former name is not registered....

This is a pretty good story. You told me this one before and it is a bit weird. I still am not a believer in the after-life, but maybe one day I will believe something?

The basket of "goodies" above the toilet is interesting as well. My question is this: was that basket of stuff there when your mom and step dad moved in? I never asked you that.

The only freaky thing I notice is people I meet that I haven't seen in years. The deja vu drives me nuts.

I couldn't read your story because I have experienced ghosts and they now freak the hell out of me. Just reading your story I am sure would make me not sleep tonight.

We used to own a Ouiji board in our old house, and one time my mom and I were trying it out. It was moving all around the board. I was barely touching it, and my mom said she wasn't either. After that experience, she didn't touch the board again. She was freaked out and that doesn't happen to her easily.

I would've been freaked out of my mind if someone knocked on my bathroom door. Blergh!

That photo is awesome! So eerie.

Evil-E: Sorry baby for all the confusion. I promise to keep this link from now on ;) ha haa. I think non-believers such as yourself will only believe in the super-natural once something has happened to you, but there is no explanation behind it. They always say trust your intuition and I had chills that day this incident happened. Yes, the basket that was hanging in my bathroom belonged to the previous owners and my mom liked it so much, she wanted to leave it "AS IS" until the day I said enough and realized there were some hidden meanings in there.

Minijonb: LOL, I hear ya man!

MrManuel: :( Sorry this topic freaks ya out and to hear you have experienced ghosts as well! Onto a new subject/post!

Tara: Yeah those Ouijii boards are something else and that is freaky when you guys were using it! I own the glow-n-dark board but never used it after having weird things happen to me. I also own the mini keychain of the Ouijii board. Hhhhmmm maybe I should get rid of them with all these strange things happening to me. Thanks for sharing your story and for the pic comment. It's very eerie!

I know it is scary, but I sort of wish I could say I'd had some sort of supernatural encounter. I haven't, but I'm kind of a believer.

Laura - like the old saying, be careful on what you wish for. I was lucky it was just a knock I heard. Now if I saw a ghost or something, ohhhhhh boy, I would need therapy everyday!!!

I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do I do I do believe in spooks...

I've never "encountered" a ghost, but I am convinced that my brother's old house was haunted. From the very first time I set foot in it, I always had a really awful, uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hated using the upstairs bathroom, because I always felt like someone was behind me when I had to come back down the steps.

I used to babysit my nephew sometimes, and they would never bring him to my place, so I always had to go over there until I finally just told them I refused to. More than once, when I had to change him, he would be crying and I would lay him down on the changing table and he would look over my shoulder towards the door to their bedroom and just STOP. He would just stare at the doorway and become completely calm, like he was watching something. It was so freaking creepy.

I love "A Haunting." It's actually a series. I think I've seen just about every episode. I love when they run a marathon of it. The best one was probably the one in Connecticut, where the people moved into the old funeral home and the one son kept seeing some creepy dude with black eyes.

I'll have to repost the story as a "Planet Flashback," but back during my house-hunting days I went to see a house that I was convinced was haunted. This was a good story, thanks for sharing.

Beckeye - Thank you for sharing your story! That is pretty freaky that your nephew would just stop and stare at the doorway when you changed him! Babies and kids tend to see spirits more often than adults. Why is that, I'll never know...?!?!?

AlienCG - Thanks for your story as well. I checked out your blog and it was quite creepy!
